About.

Security BSides focuses on expanding the spectrum of conversation around Information Security, granting a voice to anyone who is, or aims to be, involved in all domains of cyber security. BSides is a non-profit organisation with the goal of fostering a close-knit community of professionals and students alike.

Focused on providing a direct connection between speakers and the audience, BSides is a framework for events that encourage participation and provide an unparalleled networking opportunity.

Local Impact

To foster a secure digital environment across the Cayman Islands by bringing together cybersecurity professionals, researchers, government officials, and industry leaders to share knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions.

We are now a proudly registered non-profit organization in the Cayman Islands (NP-664). This allows our BSides chapter to operate with the goal of fostering a close-knit community of driven cybersecurity professionals and students alike to support our islands.

Why Security BSides?

The Caribbean region faces similar challenges as larger markets. However, due to our unique culture and history, we have to band together to build a stronger, well-equipped cyber community. We aim to help build this community by:

  • Meeting and interacting with industry leaders within the local and international communities.
  • Job seekers can network with potential employers and like-minded individuals for collaborative opportunities.
  • Developing careers of current and future security professionals by participating in training, workshops, and capture the flag events.
  • Showcasing our local talent with opportunities to present, lead workshops, offer training to both local and overseas participants.
  • Freely discuss topics, share personal opinions, and initiate discussions beyond corporate brands and sales pitches.

The team.

Made up of small core of on-island members, each year, additional volunteers are added to assist in a myriad of ways. One of the most crucial is an impartial Selection Committee, made of industry experts, to help with the Call for Presentations process.

For all sponsorship and on-island queries, please reach out to info[at]bsides.ky.
